Louisiana State Police reported that William Cokes, 49, from Baton Rouge, will be charged with vehicular homicide, first-degree vehicular injuring, reckless operation of a vehicle, possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, and no driver’s license. After receiving medical treatment, Cokes will be booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

The victim, Caleb Easterling, 19, from Denham Springs, lost his life in the three-vehicle crash that occurred on LA 64 near LA 1019 in Livingston Parish.
According to investigators, Cokes’ vehicle is believed to have crossed the center lane, resulting in a head-on collision with Easterling’s vehicle. Subsequently, a Dodge Charger crashed into the back of Easterling’s vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
