According to an affidavit of probable cause, a man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home in Baton Rouge, where he was stabbed by her father. The suspect, identified as Damarkis Corey, 20, kicked in the door and threatened the father, yelling about not being allowed to date his daughter. While rummaging through the father’s belongings, Corey was stabbed in the back by the father, who took advantage of his distraction.
After getting stabbed, Corey fled the residence and went to the hospital for medical treatment. He was later taken into custody by the EBRSO and charged with home invasion, armed robbery, and aggravated battery.
The woman clarified that she was not in a relationship with Corey and had repeatedly refused his advances. Her father had told Corey to stop bothering his daughter earlier that day.
Corey was being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $20,230.80 bond at the time of this article.
