Second Chance Academy Dean Charged With Numerous Sex Crimes Involving Multiple Minors

Corey Nash, the dean of students at Second Chance Academy, has been officially charged with numerous sex crimes, including alleged child molestation. Nash came into the spotlight in May 2023 when he was accused of soliciting explicit photos from a student for money. Soon after, another woman stepped forward, claiming Nash sexually abused her at 14 and continued to do so on school premises.

Nash has a history of sexual misconduct allegations dating back to 1996, when he was charged with the rape of a 12-year-old student. Despite a guilty plea for simple battery in 2000, he was able to continue working at the school without registering as a sex offender due to a plea deal.

The East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office has formally charged Nash with two counts each of oral sexual battery and child molestation, and additional charges related to the 2023 allegations.

Nash is currently being held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
