Baton Rouge Police Address Fatal Shooting of Dantonior Stalling by Officer

The Baton Rouge Police Department held a press conference on the morning of Aug. 3 at 11:00 AM to discuss a fatal officer-involved shooting that took place a few weeks earlier on July 21.

The incident occurred at 2245 College Drive near Holloway Avenue. According to the police, the armed suspect, 23-year-old Dantonior Stalling, was shot after allegedly disregarding police commands and aiming a gun at them.

Officers were called to the scene at around 9:30 p.m. following a shooting involving Stalling and 18-year-old Dyshon Williams, stemming from a custody dispute. Both individuals were hospitalized and later succumbed to their injuries.

In the press conference, the police presented body camera footage from the responding officers. The Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed that in line with departmental policy, three officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave.
