Baton Rouge Man Arrested for Fatal Shooting on River Road

A teenage boy lost his life following a shooting incident in the heart of Baton Rouge in the wee hours of Wednesday, July 26.

The victim has been named as Malik Clark, aged 19.

The event unfolded in the vicinity of 225 South River Road, close to the Raising Cane’s River Center on the levee, around 3 in the morning.

Investigative officers from BRPD took Javorie Springer, a 23-year-old male, into custody in connection with Clark’s fatal shooting.

Springer has been incarcerated at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, facing charges of second-degree murder and unlawful weapon usage.
