The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office has recovered 6 stolen weapons from a local pawn shop after an investigation in conjunction with the East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office. Brant D. Garret, 21, Zachary was arrested in connection with the thefts which occurred in Ethel, LA.
According to reports, a pawn shop contacted the EBRSO about 6 firearms that were pawned by Garrett. The firearms were stolen from a residence in LA where Garrett had been working for the owners. The East Feliciana Sheriff’s Office contacted the owner of the guns, who had not even realized they were missing. She verified that Garrett was an employee and had access to her home.
Garrett was charged with 6 counts of Theft of a Firearm, which is a felony. He was transported to EBR Parish Prison where he is being held on $5,000 bond at this time.
All of the weapons were returned to the owner in Ethel.
