Two Men Wanted for Attempted Carjacking in Gardere Lane Area

East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputies are seeking the whereabouts of two males involved in an attempted carjacking Saturday night.

According to reports, around midnight Saturday, deputies were called to the scene of an attempted carjacking on Innovation Park Drive in the Gardere area. Upon arrival, the victim told investigators that he was driving on Innovation Park Dr. when he saw a male standing in the roadway who appeared distressed. The victim stopped to check on the man. At some point, the man pulled a gun and pointed it at the victim. At the same time, another man approached the victim’s vehicle and started banging on the window with a gun which he was holding. The 2nd male managed to gain entry into the vehicle and pointed the gun at the driver demanding the car.

At that point, the victim got into a struggle with one of the men and stepped on the accelerator of his vehicle. The vehicle ran off the road and flipped over. The 2nd male and the victim both climbed out of the vehicle and the victim ran away from the scene. He told investigators that one of the men shot at him as he fled but he was not hit.

The suspects fled the area in a white Ford Mustang, according to the victim’s statement.
