Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Drive-By Shooting

Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested 18-year-old Jabiri Tendell of Baton Rouge, and charged him with Attempted 1st Degree Murder among other charges, in a drive-by shooting which occurred on August 23rd.

According to reports, Police were notified of a drive-by shooting which took place in the 1900 block of Gamwich Rd. The caller stated there were no injuries at the scene. Investigators learned that Tendell drove by the home in a silver sedan and opened fire at an adult and two juveniles who were sitting in front of the house. Witnesses told deputies that there was an argument between the parties prior to the incident. Investigators noted that the home had damage from what appeared to be gunfire.

Tendell denied any involvement in the incident. He was charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Criminal Damage to Property, Illegal Use of a Weapon and Assault by Drive-by Shooting.

Tendell was booked into the EBR Parish Prison where he is currently being held.
