EBRSO Arrests Female for Battering Deputy at OLOL Tuesday

An East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Deputy working extra duty at OLOL Hospital Tuesday evening was contacted by a hospital nurse in reference to a female attempting to enter an unauthorized area. The nurse told the deputy that the female, later identified as Ciara King, 32, was told not to enter the unauthorized area again or she would be asked to leave the hospital.

Ciara King

The deputy found King in a waiting room and advised her that she was not to attempt to enter the area again. Moments later, King reportedly attempted to go back into the area seeking the whereabouts of a patient, who, again, was not listed on the hospital’s patient list.

King was told she would have to leave the hospital but she just went out to the parking lot and repeatedly attempted to enter the ER only to be blocked by the deputy.

At this point, King was placed under arrest, handcuffed and taken to the deputy’s patrol unit nearby. During the arrest, King began to scream “He’s trying to kill me!” King then kicked the deputy and the vehicle multiple times while he was trying to get her into the vehicle. Once he was able to get her inside she jumped back out and attempted to run away. She was caught and sprayed with freeze plus multiple times before finally complying.

She was charged with Entry/Remaining After Being Forbidden, Disturbing the Peace, Battery on a Police Officer and Resisting an Officer, then taken to EBR Parish Prison.
