Clerk Shot and Killed During Valero Armed Robbery Saturday Morning

A 29-Year-Old man was killed during an armed robbery this morning in Baton Rouge.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Md Firoz Firoz-Ulamin, a clerk at Mr. Lucky’s Valero Gas Station at 1400 Airline Hwy, was shot after a man entered the building and robbed the store.

The incident happened at approximately 3:30 this morning. Firoz-Ulamin was reportedly a student at LSU. He was enrolled in computer science and engineering there.

LSU President F. King Alexander released a statement regarding Firoz-Ulamin’s death.

“The entire LSU community mourns the tragic loss of Ph.D. student Md Firoz-Ulamin,” Alexander wrote. “He was an incredibly gifted student and researcher with such a promising future. Our thoughts are with his family, fellow students and his professors in the Computer Science and Engineering program at this time.”
