Baton Rouge Man Arrested After Drive By Shooting

Baton Rouge Police Officers were patrolling Plank Rd. when they heard several gunshots near Hollywood St. One officer was flagged down by a resident who advised them that a black male opened fire from his vehicle moments before.

Officers located a vehicle matching the description and were able to make a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle revealed a stolen firearm and several drugs including Cocaine, Marijuana, MDMA and Xanax.

Demetrius Olinde Mckiney, 28, the vehicle’s driver, was taken into custody and charged with PWITD Marijuana, PWITD MDMA, Possession of Cocaine, PWITD Xanax, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm and Illegal Possession of a Firearm with a CDS.

McKiney was transported to EBR Parish Prison where he is currently being held in lieu of a $33,000 bond.
